Dream ✣ 20 ✣ When the doors open, you get smashed with endless sparkles and rose petals

"The perfect host," Tamaki said to no one in particular, "is one who attends to his or her client with the utmost respect, enthusiasm, and care he or she can offer."

He was dressed in his usual light blue, Ouran uniform and walked across a grand room as if he was giving a lecture. While the background was dimly lit, a spotlight from only Tamaki knows where followed the blond as he continued walk, an index finger pointed up.

"To tend to their every whims and make them feel that they are indeed the most important person at that time. One must have charm, good looks, and an ample supply of refined social etiquette." As he spoke, a move projector suddenly dropped behind him and a pointer appeared in his hand.

"You need to utilize everything that is at your disposal." Various clips started to play as he continued to explain. All of them were framed with sparkling red roses, and all of them featured himself charming away the young maidens of his home school. "The right angles of the light, the slight tilt of the head, the elegant grace as we serve our clients, the way we move, speak, and listen to them."

The montage continued to play as he took on a more dramatic stance. And that patriotic, uplifting music? Yeah that was there, too. "To be the perfect host or hostess, you must always remember that the client comes first, and that their smile and complete happiness are what we strive for! We are to help live their sweet, innocent romantic fantasies and fill their hearts with joy! If they wish for us to be their prince, we become their prince! If we are to soothe their lonely hearts, we provide the comfort and company that they long for!"

With his signature "Tamaki Point!", he pointed right toward the viewers. Once again the backdrop changed to show the café, all decked out for the holiday season. Lights, snowmen, Christmas trees, the works -- it was all there. "The Host Club will be holding a Christmas theme this Saturday, and there will be a Christmas Party on December 24, Christmas Eve. Therefore I will need more hosts and hostesses! If you believe you are capable of becoming one, I will gladly consider. But I must warn you, the training will be hard and rigorous!"

[ooc: in case anyone was confused, yes this was a dream, and yes this is long overdue the "DO YOU WANNA BE IN THE HOST CLUB? THEN SIGN-UP HERE" post >_>

edit: small clarification: Host Club meeting 12/19 Saturday. Christmas Party 12/24 Thursday. THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT EVENTS!]

A Christmas Party, you say?

I believe I shall, yes. There is no point in spending the holiday with only a small group of people, after all.

[well, saying no would be rude, so... give him time to consider things.]

Provided I am not obligated to... host for the entire party, I don't see why not.

[and of course, being Austria, turning down a request to perform on the piano is pretty much impossible.]

I would be more than glad to play the piano at your party. One cannot have a proper party without proper music, after all. Do you have any specific pieces you would like to be played in mind?

Though it would be far more diverse sounding and appealing for the party atmosphere had I a string ensemble to work with, I will do the best I can with what I have here. As for the renditions, though, would you prefer me to play the carols individually as they were traditionally written, a piece compiling various carols into one, or individually but with a slight variation on the traditional notation?

As I've noticed. It's a shame, really.

I am comfortable with any of the choices I provided. It is up to you, really. If a compilation is what you prefer, then a compilation it will be.

I will get to work writing it right away, then.
